Lightning protection test – Team 42 in the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung

On an icy Monday morning in January 2022, the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung accompanied us on a lightning protection test at the wind energy park in Badbergen.

Wind turbines are among the structures at risk of lightning. Lightning strikes can have significant consequences here, from repair-related failures to destruction of the system.

The aim is to protect people, animals and even the wind turbine itself from the dangers of lightning strikes. Therefore, the lightning protection system must be checked at the prescribed maintenance intervals to ensure trouble-free operation and a long service life.

Our industrial climbing team tested the lightning protection system on a wind turbine. The NOZ accompanied us throughout the entire process and reported on it. The online article can be found here. With kind permission we may present the print version of the report here on our site.
